Professional Development
We support schools committed to making grade-level, problem-based math instruction accessible to every student.
Through on-site and virtual workshops, we help teams implement a clear instructional structure grounded in learning science.
Implementation Training
When schools adopt the Proficiency Project Framework, we recommend structured Implementation Training for teachers and school leaders.
This training ensures the framework is applied consistently and intentionally across classrooms.
Implementation Training for Teachers and School Leaders
Includes five 90-minute sessions*:
The Framework, Standards Deconstruction, and Lesson Design: An overview of the instructional model and how to break down standards into teachable, skill-aligned lessons.
Math Facts, Procedural Fluency, and Student Confidence: Building daily fluency systems that strengthen automaticity, protect prior learning, and improve student confidence.
Skill Focus & Explicit Instruction: Designing and delivering clear, structured lessons that make problem-based content accessible to struggling learners.
Guided Instruction & Addressing Misconceptions: Using purposeful questioning and modeling to identify misunderstandings and support students during practice.
Independent Practice & Responsive Planning: Aligning independent work to lesson objectives and using student evidence to inform next steps.
* Implementation Training for Teachers and School Leaders can also be consolidated into two full-day professional development workshops.
Implementation for School Leaders
Includes three 60-minutes sessions:
Building a School-wide Math Vision: Establishing a shared understanding of structured math instruction and aligning expectations across grade levels.
Observing for Instructional Clarity: Learning how to identify explicit instruction, fluency routines, and aligned practice during walkthroughs and coaching conversations.
Data, Feedback, and Implementation Planning: Using student evidence and classroom observation data to support teachers, strengthen consistency, and guide school-wide planning.
Custom Workshops for Schools
Targeted professional development built around your school’s instructional goals.
We design workshops focused on high-impact areas of the Proficiency Project framework: including fluency, explicit instruction, guided practice, synthesis, data-driven planning, and classroom management.
Every training is tailored to your grade levels, curriculum, and student data to ensure immediate classroom impact.
Teacher and Leadership Coaching
Our coaching is designed for teachers, coaches, and school leaders who want more than encouragement. We provide structured, implementation-focused support and feedback that helps you implement the Proficiency Project Framework in real classrooms.
How Coaching Works
The Proficiency Project Coaching is for teachers and school leaders who are serious about strengthening their practice and improving math achievement in their classrooms.
1. Instructional Review
We begin by reviewing lesson plans, student work, and/or instructional recordings to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement aligned to The Proficiency Project Framework.
2. Focused Feedback
For teachers, coaching sessions target one or two high-leverage areas (such as fluency implementation, explicit instruction, guided practice structure, synthesis effectiveness, etc.).
For school leaders, we target implementation, observations, and classroom feedback.
3. Implementation Plan
You leave each session with specific action steps and tools to apply immediately.
4. Follow-Up and Refinement
We revisit progress, adjust supports, and continue strengthening instructional consistency over time.
Coaching can be delivered virtually or on-site and is tailored to individual teachers or school leadership teams.
